Botswana: Serowe based Sefalana Wholesale has donated food hampers for the people of Sehunou village. Through this initiative, the organization wanted to spread happiness in the communities ahead of the festive season.
Sefalana Wholesale made the donation for the food hampers on Friday, December 8. Many people of Sehunou village were happy to receive the food hampers. Several recipients of the donation convened at the Kgotla to welcome the gifts with joy and celebration in this season of giving.
Kgosi Gabagopolwe of Sehunou expressed his gratitude to the organization for their kind gesture. The was representing all the people who benefitted from the festive initiative. He urged recipients to be humbled by the gesture as it is a token of love and unity.
Gabagopolwe acknowledged that the hampers were not enough for the whole village. However, he urged those who had not received gifts on the day not to despair as their time shall also come.
Sefalana Wholesale have also made these donations in the past. The representative of the Sefalana was extremely happy to see that their contribution was received with so much love. The administration of Serowe District shared some images from the donation.
The organization donated bags of Rice and other food items to the people of the village. The packages were limited, which means many people did not get the food packages.
However, the Sefalana Group said that they do not intend to divide the community. They called on the authorities to ensure distribution of the supplies.
“This initiative, known as feeding the nation drive, is a way of giving back to our customers and communities countywide.” Said the representative of the group.
He added, “The food hampers are not meant to divide or segregate community members.”
The organization believes that as the community, the Sehunou village has structures in place that assist in fair distribution of similar gestures. Therefore, they are counting on the village to receive this as a token of love and prosperity.
