Serowe, Botswana: Officials, politicians and individuals in various leadership roles within Serowe District hosted a meeting to discuss various issues and challenges of administration. The meeting was held under the title of “The Serowe District Leadership Forum meeting” on October 23. The members of the district administration in Serowe brought together key stakeholders
The attendants of the meeting also included the three Members of Parliament (MPs) representing Serowe District Constituencies: Serowe South, North, and West. Through the forum, officials and high-level administration stakeholders want to address the problems and challenges in the District.
Additionally, the initiative will help in fostering collaboration between Government representatives and the administrative wing. Accordingly, finding solutions and enhancing the community’s well-being will be easier.
The officials took part in the initiative wholeheartedly to understand how to better serve the country’s population. Several critical issues were discussed during the meeting.
These included concerns about the Healthcare system. The attendants of the leadership forum took the initiative to address delays in hospital patient care specifically. Additionally, there were discussions about delays in Infrastructure development in the District and the slow progress in allocating land to Citizens.
Further, During the meeting, the Department of Energy delivered a presentation on a new initiative for generating gas from waste known as Bio Gas. Some of the readily available waste that can be used is cow dung. This innovative method can potentially improve life and save money for Batswana. Bio Gas can be used in various applications, such as cooking, operating generators, etc.
The people of Serowe were happy to see such an important forum being hosted for their benefit. A social media user also took the opportunity to applaud his leaders for coming together for the initiative. The user also shared some feedback on the issues that the people of the district face.
Social media user Sechele Kgari commented on the post shared by Serowe District, asserting that it was an important forum. He took the opportunity to highlight other issues that he believes need the attention of the authorities.

The dirt in Serowe, more specifically plastics, raises a great concern.
The other issue is the Mosu tree, something environmentally needs to be considered as it is also a health hazard situation.
The cattle are roaming all over the village, and it looks like there isn’t a bye-law to be applied in this regard.
