Botswana: Windhoek, Namibia, is all set to host an ITF/CAT Southern African Junior Individual and Teams’ Championships for 14 and 16-year-olds. The Championship will commence from 6 to 14 January.
Botswana Tennis Association (BTA) of Botswana is also going to take part in the Championship and has successfully completed its training camp in Gaborone. The camp started on 9 December to 13 December 2023.
The Botswana Tennis Association (BTA) thanked stakeholders for the support received. BTA said, “We are looking forward to your continued support and assistance.”
The team includes:
- Boys under 14: Martin Seetso, Tinashe Phatshwane & Marcus Semane.
- Under 14 Girls; Malak Macheng, Angel Chakanyuka & Rerotlhe Kgannyeng.
- Boys under 16: Kgatlego Regoeng, Reagile Diraditsile & Tyson Anderson
- Girls under 16: Bashalli Phatshwane, Mbali Qame & Rethabile Moshaoa
- Coaches are Brighton Keteng & Kelebogile Monnayoo
This Year’s Championship is going to be hosted by Windhoek. Top tennis talent from all Southern African countries will be on display.
The schedule of the Tournament will be:
First Week: The first week will see players square off during an individual tournament.
Second Week: The second week will see the top three players from each country combine in an international teams event. Countries will vigorously compete to be crowned Champions.
Moreover, Nampol Tennis Club stars and Namibian League Ladies Champions Joanivia Bezuidenhout and Mari van Schalkwyk will represent Namibia as part of the U/16 girl’s team. Henlou du Toit, also a Nampol league player, will feature in the U/16 boys section.
This event offers local spectators the opportunity to measure Namibian talent against the best in Southern Africa and see just how great the kids are.

January 6-14: ITF/CAT Southern African Junior Individual and Teams Championships Windhoek – Namibia

January 6-13: ITF/CAT North African Junior Individual and Teams Championships Cairo – Egypt.
February 5 – 10: African Junior Championships 18 and U and Cairo, Egypt
