Buguma, Nigeria: Executive Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government Area, Onengiyeofori George, DSSRS, yesterday inaugurated five supervisors and five advisers alongside the recently-appointed Secretary to Council, Bro. Sele Francis.
The Council Boss also assigned portfolios to the new members of his cabinet, beginning with the Vice Chairman of the Council, Tekenari Daphne Wokoma, who was announced as Supervisor for Women’s Affairs.
Others who were given their oath of office and inaugurated were: Dr Ipalibo Jenbreton-a George as Supervisor for Health & Social Welfare; Afiyesima-a Daye Dappa as Supervisor for Agriculture and Natural Resources; Chief (Sir) Dedeibi Olu-Princewill as Supervisor for Works & Energy; John Paul Braide as Supervisor for Information & Communication; and Toma Harold Ajenyegobia as Supervisor for Youth, Sports & Culture.
Onengiyeofori George, DSSRS, equally announced the following as Advisers: Daopu Promise Igonikon as Adviser on Education; Ojuka Songo as Adviser on Community Development; Miss Sundayba Matthew Ajiboye as Adviser on Transport; Tubonimi West Otorubio as Adviser on Water Resources; and Miss Benjiba Krobuboa Amachree as Adviser on Budget and Economic Planning.
He said the reappointment of new cabinet members was necessitated by last month’s dissolution of nearly all appointees and the need to set the ball rolling as the government is a continuum.
He then restated his government’s commitment to providing good governance to the masses of the Asari-Toru Local Government Area, which he said he has provided in the last two years from his scorecard in the full glare of the public.
He concluded by charging the newly-appointed cabinet members to discharge their duties to the best of their abilities and to “work as a team to deliver on our campaign promises to make Asalga-first always.”
Responding on behalf of the newly-inaugurated appointees, the Secretary to Council, Bro. Sele Francis appreciated the Executive Chairman for finding them worthy to serve their LGA alongside him, promising to work with him as partners in progress to further deliver more dividends of democracy to the teeming masses of Asari-Toru LGA.
The oath of office was administered to the Secretary to Council, Supervisors and Advisers by the Magistrate of the Customary Court in Buguma City, Okeke, Esq. before a mammoth crowd at the Council’s Hall of Fame.
