Cameroon: A military man in Cameroon was killed along with and two civilians in Babadjou. The incident took place in the late hours of the night on Wednesday, November 22.
The police force has opened an investigation into the brutal killing. The incident took place a check point in Zavion, boundary between the village Babadjou and Southwest region.
The deadly incident happened after the two civilians who were on bike refused to do what we commonly know as “Settle Control”. The victims were on their way to Wabane in the Southwest region of Cameroon.
Reports say one of the civilians had a breakdown with his bike while on his way to Wabane. The victim has been identified as known as Wakam Guy. He was a bread seller and delivery agent.
After his vehicle broke down, he rushed down to Kombou and called on Tagang Innocent. He is a bike repairer who went with Guy to help him with his bike.
While on their way, they were intercepted by government forces. The officials harassed the two civilians, but Innocent wasn’t happy and refused to yield to their demands.
This situation led to a tense atmosphere at the scene of crime in Babadjou. Afterwards, one of the men in uniform removed a knife to threaten them. The uniformed officer also tried to burst the tyres of the bike. However, the person who was riding the bike, Tangah Innocent snatched it from him.
Then, the victim used the uniformed officers’ weapon to stab him after the two were part of a dispute. Furious and angered about the situation, other men in uniform immediately killed Innocent.
Afterwards, they tried to take their colleague to the hospital, but he unfortunately died on the way.
They returned to the post after some time to see the second victim still present at the scene. One thing led to the other, and they also killed Guy Wakam.
This was despite the fact that Wakam did not manifest any sign of violence against them.
