Cameroon: The officials selected the National Football team of Cameroon ‘Indomitable Lions’ in the 2025 AFCON Qualifiers.
The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers match will take place from September 2024 to November 2024. The Indomitable Lions will play their first two soccer matches between September 02, 2024 and September 10, 2024.
The Tournament is starting with a home game against Namibia and then followed by an away game against Zimbabwe in South Africa.
Popularly, FECAFOOT, its coach Marc Brys’ team will face Kenya in back-to-back matches, in October, between the dates 7th and 15th, for the 3rd and 4th rounds of the qualifiers.
Reportedly, the final set of games will occur from November 11 to 19, 2024, with Cameroon traveling to Namibia and then hosting Zimbabwe.
However, to secure its position in the AFCON finals, Cameroon must finish in the top two of Group-J, where they are the top seed. The tournament will be held in Morocco later from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.
The Indomitable Lions will be opening their 2025 AFCON qualifiers match by facing Namibia’s Brave Warriors on home turf.
Currently, Namibia is ranked at 97th in the world after making an impressive AFCON run and promises to be a worthy opponent. Recalling their last encounter, Namibia manged to secure a point at home and they’ll be aiming for an even better performance this time.
Cameroon’s team will travel to Zimbabwe to take on the Warriors in match day two. Previously, Zimbabwe excluded from the qualifiers as they were banned by the government and seek redemption and hopes to show a better side to its fans.
Notably, the September FIFA window will close with this game and the next appointment is scheduled for October where Cameroon will face Kenya for three match days and four of the four of the qualifiers.
The return legs of the first two games are set for November 11 to 19, 2024 where the FECAFOOT team will face again Namibia on day five and again will play against Kenya on match day six.
The venues for the games are yet to be decided but it’s likely to rotate between Douala and Yaounde.
