Cameroon: The sensational rapper ‘Ko-c’ has recently changed his stage name to ‘Kocee’. The rap star has updated all his social media handles to the username ‘Kocee’.
Njang Mengu Collins, the Cameroonian singer, is professionally used to be known by the stage name ‘Ko-c’. The 32-year-old serial hitmaker regained his lost verified Facebook page with close to 1 million followers.
The exciting thing is that the musician’s page resurfaced with a new name tagged ‘Kocee’.
Reportedly, not only does his Facebook page carry the new name, but his other social media platforms, such as Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat and others, also changed to the new username.
As per the sources, Ko-c announced that he lost his Facebook page in Oct 2022 and following that, he created a new page afterwards, where he could connect with the fans, before dropping his then-latest album in March 2023.
There is not much change that can be seen to his stage name as the singer has just changed the spellings of his stage name from ‘Ko-c’ to ‘Kocee’, but definitely, the pronunciation stays the same.
So, the fans have need not to worry much about it. As soon as the changed stage name came into notice, the fans filled the comment section with their opinions and plenty of reactions.
Responding to the situation, the actor, Don Baiye, commented, “he realizes that Ko-c is hard to spell and pronounce while Kocee is very, very easy. I told him about this some years ago.”
Another actor, Shuckerblaq, from his official social media handle, said, “The good news is that he got his account back.”
Another songwriter and artist, Yung Keys, wrote, “Masa we thank God. Welcome back KING KOCEE.”
Another Cameroonian artist T Robin Tangem commented, “Thank God he got his page back.”
A digital creator, Javeya Mukete, expressed, “He was able to realize that it was hard for some of his fans to search his name.”
Another digital creator, Akola Carlson Ehabe, revealed, “During the Canal d’or awards where Ko-c was voted Best Male Artist of the Year, the minister of Arts and Culture read the name as KOC and pronounced it as ‘coque’. Think that’s the reason he had to change it.”
