Cameroon: The Cameroon International Film Festival (CAMIFF) for the year 2024 is set to be observed from April 22, 2024 to April 27, 2024 at Buea Mountain Hotel and The W Cinema.
#CAMIFF2024 is on a mission which focus mainly to inspire creativity, develop talent and celebrate the best in Cameroon and the world of visual storytelling.
The international film festival is governed by the principles of integrity, diversity, excellence and authenticity.
CAMIFF is recognised by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF). It promotes the cultural exchange on mutual basis with a deep understanding amongst nations while reinforcing cooperation among filmmakers across the world.
According to CAMIFF, acting is behaving truthfully under imaginary circumstances. So, to indulge that worm of acting in every artist an acting master-class will also be arranged for the actors where the technicalities and skills will be taught by the instructor Ndamo Damarise.
CAMIFF has partnered with Nature Environment & Wildlife Filmmakers (NEWF) of Durban to produce educative movies on Nature and Environment.
They believe that urgent and concerted action is needed as soaring and fluctuating temperatures pose an extreme climate risk over the world. CAMIFF also believe that they depend on good citizens and nature-loving people across the globe, for which they need to stand as the first guard that the world needs against deforestation.
Notably, climate change is undeniable, and immediate action is critical if they want to protect the future of the environment of Cameroon.
The Cameroon International Film Festival, popularly known as CAMIFF was established with the aim to help in creating a vibrant film culture throughout the region.
Every year in the month of May CAMIFF curate exceptional programs to engage and educate the local community, inspire film-makers and nurture the growth of the Cameroon and African film industry.
CAMIFF is committed to presenting works of Cameroonian filmmakers in competition alongside the major talent of the world cinema. It offers Cameroon’s diverse and enthusiastic audience a means of engaging with the culture of theirs and others through the art of CINEMA.
The CAMIFF mainly focuses on being a place for the world to discover and gauge the pulse of recent Cameroon and African films or filmmakers.
It considers sixteen major awards and prizes for the categories namely, Best Feature Film, Best Short Film, Best Documentary Film, Best Online Social Content Creator (Audience Choice Award), Best Overall Actor, Best Overall Actress, Best Cameroon Film, Best Cameroon Actor, Best Cameroon Actress, Best Short Film Cameroon, Best Film Director, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Honorary Awards, Life Time Achievement Award and Fallen Hero Award.
