Cape Town: The Human Settlements Housing Queue of the City of Cape Town has gone live as part of the One Contact Centre for Non-Emergencies (OCCNE) programme of the city. This addition provides a valuable channel for the residents to access the Housing Services which complements the existing walk-in options.
Member of the Mayoral Committee for Corporate Services – Alderman Theresa Uys said that through extensive process mapping, comprehensive training and the introduction of advanced technology, the City of Cape Town has successfully enhanced the ability for the customers to connect with the Human Settlements Directorate telephonically.
Alderman Uys highlighted that this is a significant step forward taken for Human Settlements ensuring that the customers should have multiple ways to engage with the city officials, while making them more accessible and convenient.
Considering this, Member of the Mayoral Committee for Human Settlements – Councillor Carl Pophaim said that as the Human Settlements Directorate, they are proud to announce the launch of the new Housing Queue contact service, which is ready to assist the residents.
Pophaim added further to his statement that they are committed to enhance the service delivery for the residents and to provide the service addition in line with the strategic focus of improving access to the Human Settlements Services.
He also mentioned that the new service offers will significantly improve the efficiency and the dedicated teams will ensure that the residents have a seamless experience when contacting the city of Cape Town about their housing related matters. He also encouraged all the residents to make use of the new and valuable city resource.
Notably, the new contact service will provide residents the advantages, such as:
- Easy Access to Human Settlements Information
This consists of information about housing opportunities in the City of Cape Town as the housing needs register process, eligibility criteria as well as application status updates. - Enhanced Customer Support
It will assist the residents with online applications and will address the City Public Housing queries. - Improved Customer Communication
This service provides updates on City of Cape Town housing projects and available opportunities.
