Cape Town: The Public Housing maintenance teams of the City of Cape Town visited its Peta and Ondine courts in Mananberg to carry out the repairs and maintenance work.
Reportedly, the Public Housing Department of the City of Cape Town is investing in maintenance and repairs of more than 1.2 billion over the next few years.
Considering this, the Mayco Member of Human Settlements – Councillor Carl Pophaim visited the units to check on the maintenance work that is being carried out.
According to him, it is always gratifying to see for himself the carpentry, electrical and plumbing work, that is being carried out at their units.
Pophaim expressed that he was happy to start working and give these units a fresh coat of paint. “We want to know that the thousands of tenants who live in the units across the metro feel comfortable and secure,” said Councillor Carl Pophaim.
Due to this, the Human Settlements team recently launched a Public Housing campaign that prioritises safety and maintenance at residential units.
Carl added further to his statement and said, “It is our mission to the units in a safe and dignified manner for the benefits of the residents.”
Moreover, as the City of Cape Town officials they are taking the wellbeing of the tenants in an extremely serious way. They encouraged them to report any and all maintenance issues on their official contact numbers.
The officials are obliged and extended their gratitude towards the residents of Cape Town. They are the real heroes and strong pillars behind its success. They are the ones who stood with them and trusted them.
“We thank our residents for standing with us to create a safer and more dignified living spaces,” said Councillor Pophaim. He further added that they are stronger and more resilient now than before. “When we work together for better living spaces, we gain more strength and build ourselves stronger,” said Carl Pophaim.
