Cape Town: This week sees the first test match between the sides in city since 2014. This is a guide on how spectators can get to the DHL Stadium on game day.
Reportedly, the City of Cape Town is rolling out an expanded free Park & Ride services on Saturday, August 23, 2025. The Mother City hosts four-time Rugby World Cup champions, the Springboks, for their Castle Lager Rugby Championship game against Australia at the DHL Stadium.
It going to be a match day between Springboks v/s Australia at DHL Stadium. The stadium gates are set to open at midday.
The free MyCiTi shuttle will start operating at 11:30 a.m. from the following locations i.e. Bellville Velodrome, Century City, the CTICC, Thibault Square and the Civic Centre, with return services, that will operate until 09:30 p.m.

Member of the Mayoral Committee for Safety and Security – Alderman JP Smith said that they know that game days mean heavy traffic and congestion on the roads, especially with around 55,000 spectators expected at DHL Stadium. That’s why the City of Cape Town has worked with the event organisers to expand transport options that reduce congestion and get fans to the stadium safely.
Smith added that they encourage everyone to use the Park-and-Ride system and dedicated shuttle services, which offer a convenient, reliable and traffic-beating way to enjoy the game without the stress of driving. They are also ensuring that the Safety and Security personnel are out and about to ensure that people are able to get to the stadium, enjoy the game and return home safely.

The City of Cape Town will avail its parking lot at the Civic Centre to match ticket holders from 11:30 a.m. Limited free parking bays are available for ticket holders on a first-come, first-served basis. The area will be monitored by security; however, parking is at the owner’s risk. Paid parking is also available at the mall.
MyCiTi shuttle will operate from the Bellville Velodrome where parking will be available for spectators. The Park & Ride will start from 11:30 pre-game and will operate until 09:30 p.m. after the game.
At CTICC, the shuttle will operate from the City Sightseeing bus stop near Entrance-3 on Walter Sisulu Avenue. For those using the bus from the CTICC or the Civic Centre, on-street parking is free in the CBD from 01:00 p.m.
