Cape Town: The city will soon observe Khayelitsha Market and serve the fun at visitor’s table. The City of Cape Town has invited public to participate in the festivities and embrace the excitement of the bazaar by attending the first Khayelitsha Market of Cape Town.
Reportedly, it is an annual event observed in the city and this year the visitors will gather at Lookout Hill on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The event will be hosted by the Economic Growth Directorate of the City of Cape Town.
Moreover, the day promises an exciting line-up of live entertainment for the whole family. The visitors will find food vendors selling the delicious dishes and a variety of arts, crafts and fashion. Almost 20 traders are expected to show off their wares. The fun event holds something for everyone as there will be fun activities for the children also.
Although, there are many more things that are not to be missed such as MC DJ Ntobsie, which will be followed by the traditional dances and various other DJs who will mix their genre of music tracks to create a cohesive and enjoyable experience for the audience.
Considering this, Member of the Mayoral Committee for Economic Growth and Tourism – Alderman James Vos said that they encouraged the public to attend the first market of the City of Cape Town at the popular location which supports local talent and businesses.
According to Alderman Vos, the market aims to stimulate the local economy and foster entrepreneurial opportunities. The community markets are an ideal opportunity for local artists and small businesses, that helps to generate extra income and for neighbours to connect.
Notably, it will further empower local communities to take ownership of their living spaces. Also, it diarises the date and enjoy all it has to offer.
