The City of Cape Town has unveiled the recently released Cape Town Six Pillar Content Programme at the World Travel Market Africa. The strong initiative by the ministry aims to amplify Cape Town’s allure as a global destination.
The Place Marketing branch of the city within the Economic Growth Directorate has officially launched the programme at WTMA that was hosted at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. Along with this the city has launched the Cape Town Volume-2 Magazine.
Reportedly, the Six Pillar Content Partnership Programme created a milestone adding into the city’s objectives to centre Capetonians in the authentic storytelling of the destination and to enhance its visibility and appeal on the international stage.
Talking about the partnership programme, the Member of the Mayoral Committee for Economic Growth Alderman James Vos has said that it is an exciting initiative that speaks directly in confidence that Cape Town’s biggest drawcard for travellers and investors, over and above its natural beauty are the people, places and products.
The programme consists of the exceptional features that places Cape Town on the globe stage and make the world’s difference.it harnesses the talents of the content creators, photographers, bloggers and writers. For who it is mandatory to showcase the beauty, diversity and vibrancy of the Mother City.
The project forms a part of the City’s strategic push to position itself as the premier destination to visit, live, work, study, play and invest in by leveraging authentic and engaging the content.
The structured programme will raise collaboration and innovation as it categorises partners into main and niche groups.
The Main Partners offers unique experiences for content creation and niche partners that focuses on capturing the essence of Cape Town through their unique perspectives and interests.
The Participants will contribute to the content monthly which will be promoted across the City’s platforms, through destination marketing.
The content partners are benefitted by realising increased exposure and audience reach, recognition with proper credit and attribution, networking opportunities with a community of content creators and the ones who are potential for content to be featured in international campaigns and events.
The award ceremony that is observed every year will celebrate the most innovative contributions. The branch has also gathered the tourism industry businesses and media at the City’s pavilion to unveil the second edition of the Cape Town Magazine.
The glossy will again be available in all airport lounges around the country and to Kenya Airways passengers travelling on the airline’s route network of over 40 destinations.
Alderman James Vos has said that it has been especially gratifying to hear from Kenya Airways as the magazine is a big hit with their travellers who take copies in their bags and off the flights so they can read more and pass it on.
In the second edition, the readers can find some great features about golf tourism in the city, the Atlantis Special Economic Zone and spotlights on areas such as Khayelitsha. The magazine is another wealth of engaging and varied content and I Can’t wait for people to read it.
