Cape Town: The city observed Khayelitsha Fashion Week on June 07, 2025 at Artscape Chandelier Foyer, DF Malan Street, Cape Town City Centre. The event began around 1:00 p.m. in the noon.
In 2025, Khayelitsha Fashion Week celebrated 10th anniversary and delivered a spectacular show of creativity and elegance. Visitors there experienced the timeless style of Mother City at the Artscape Theatre Centre.
Khayelitsha Fashion Week presented emerging local designers, who professionally showcased their latest creations on the runway. Viewers enjoyed a dazzling production completely with stunning lights, captivating performances and trained models.
The weekend was weekending at the Khayelitsha Fashion Week, and it was all about the glitz and the glam at Artscape as the famous Chandelier Foyer was transformed into a world-class runway in celebration of the 10th Khayelitsha Fashion Week.
The fashion Week boasted emerging local designers, presented professional models and stunning designs to look at the dazzling lights and performances which were fantastic.
Crowning it all, CEO – Marlene le Roux and the Executive Mayor of Cape Town – Geordin Hill-Lewis, spoke wonders about the event, as serving the crowd’s delight, each had their moment to strut their stuff on the runway.
Khayelitsha Fashion Week is the ultimate platform for local fashion talent in Khayelitsha. It showcases the skills and talents of aspiring fashion designers, professional photographers, and models.
The fashion show was founded by the popular Zibonele FM breakfast show host – Bongani Matenjwa and has existed for more than eight years in the industry. The production is professionally organized with lights, ramp/runway, performances, new designs, and trained models.
Khayelitsha Fashion Week is so famous that the organizers have managed to secure big partnerships such as MTN, Artscape, City of Cape Town, SABC Education, Ngalo security, Radio Zibonele, Brand magazine, etc.
The KFW is one of the leading fashion events observed in Cape Town. The event includes workshops, shows, as well as emerging and local designers. It also works with brands through partnerships to ingress new markets and strengthens its position in existing markets closer to the people.
