Chitipa United FC announces fundraising campaigns for club

The soccer club has recently hired former Scorchers and Mzuni coach Mcnebert Kadzuwa on Friday as head coach for the 2024 season match.

Malawi: Chitipa United Football Club has unveiled the plans to hold fundraising campaigns to raise the amount of K250 million for the club to use during the 2024 football season.

The chairperson of the club – Fidelis Kambalame said that the football landscape in the nation is becoming more dynamic and competitive as the club has decided it wisely to raise the money.

Kambalame also said that among other fundraising initiatives, the club will be selling replica jerseys which will introduce the membership fees and will hold a gala dinner and dance event.

The Chitipa United Football Club is mainly pronounced as, “Inkhalamu zga ku Chitipa”, by it ssupporters and has been awarded as ‘The Most Improved Team’ last year during football season and finished fourth in the TNM Super League.

Reportedly, Chitipa United has recently hired former Scorchers and Mzuni coach Mcnebert Kadzuwa on Friday as head coach for the 2024 season match. Kadzuwa has replaced Macdonald Nginde Mtetemera, who has left after last season.

The General Secretary of the club Watson Mwaiseni Kabaghe confirmed the one-year contract and said that Kadzuwa will be assisted by Elvis Kafoteka and Gift Nathaniel Mkamanga.

Kabaghe said that they believe in the technical team and hope these three will deliver for the forthcoming season.

Elvis Kafoteka has been hired as vice coach and said that he was delighted to join the team which performed well last season.

Kafoteka said he is happy that he has received a warm welcome from players, executives and supporters. He promises to work hard so that the team can do well.

In last season, Chitipa United finished as fourth in the league, they scored against Blantyre giants Mighty Wanderers and Nyasa Big Bullets.

As per the sources, the club is hoping Kadzuwa can build on last season’s success and help the team compete for the league title.
