Cameroon: Football player from the team of Indomitable Lions – Christian Bassogog has signed a contract with the Turkish first division club ‘MKE Ankaragucu’ for one year and six months. The contract will be valid till year 2025.
The 28-year-old Cameroonian professional footballer has been free after leaving the Chinese club ‘Shanghai Shenhua’, last year in 2023 and finally signed the contract.
Christian Bassogog is born and brought up in Douala, Cameroon. He is also the former player of Henan Jianye.
Turkish club MKE Ankaragucu is the sixth club that Christian Bassogog is joining since he began his career with the Rainbow FC.
Earlier, Bassogog announced to join Gaziantep FK, where former Indomitable Lion’s player – Nicolas Nkoulou also plays.
However, due to some reasons they did not reach to an agreement which ultimately lead him to join Turkish Ankaragucu in the same league.
Bassogog played in the AFCON 2017 and was a part of the winning team. In that match he was named as player of the tournament.
Currently, the soccer player holds 44 caps for Cameroon with 7 goals on his name and is taking his international experience to the new club.
The versatile flying winger is known for his unique abilities to go pass players that will definitely impact the Turkish Ankaragucu.
MKE Ankaragucu will be receiving many offensive positions as Bassogog’s versatility and playing style is adept in playing from both right wing and as a forward player.
Before joining the Turkish club, Christian Bassogog won the Chinese FA Cup by playing in the official team of Shanghai Shenhua in November.
The former FECAFOOT player has also represented the Danish club ‘Aalborg BK’ back in 2015 to 2017. After which he went to play in Chinese football club Shanghai Shenhua and stayed there for seven years.
Cameroonian footballer Christian Bassogog also showcased his soccer skills in the local Super League and played in 134 matches.
Collectively, in those matches he scored 36 goals and provided 25 assists. Bassogog has also played a football match of renowned FIFA World Cup in the year 2022.
