Cape Town: Corporate Services Directorate of City of Cape Town assisted 302 Lavender Hill community members with bursaries and apprentice-ship enquiries. The assistance also included jobseeker database registrations and primary health care and Law Enforcement services.
During the assistance, the Mobile Office team was also on site. The team assisted residents with a wide range of non-emergency services and all other account enquiries.
Reportedly, the Lavender Hill Community Centre was bustling with the residents, who decided to interact with 55 City officials from departments such as Human Resources, Social Development and Energy. The interaction session also included the departments such as Health, Safety and Security, EPWP and also the Customer relations Mobile Unit.
Considering this, Member of the mayoral Committee for Corporate Services – Alderman Theresa Uys said that the turnout was quite incredible. She expressed that she was pleased to see the residents.
Uys mentioned that she was obliged to see the majority of the residents who were present there, especially the elders.
According to her it was a great event arranged for the people of City of Cape Town and said, “What is great about these basket of services mobile visits is that it spares community especially the members who are the long commute and commuter fares to get to municipal offices.”
Alderman Theresa Uys praised the City of Cape Town and added a statement in its appreciation that the city is committed to bring the services to residents and is dedicated to make the local government more accessible to all.
Also, she extended her gratitude towards the attendees who were present at the event. Uys expressed that it was grateful to observe so many people at this prestigious moment and the organisers are glad that they all were a part of this.
Noting this, Alderman for Corporate Services Uys said, “We thank all of those who came and I am encouraging more community members to take advantage of these visits in future.”
