City of Cape Town has launched Business Hub 2025 training programme for SMMEs. The programme is ready to support the city small businesses and entrepreneurs this year.
Reportedly, the training sessions will once again cover a variety of business-related concerns and topics, that will include marketing strategy, financial planning and tendering. Most of the programmes out of the session will take place virtually, which means that the business owners will be able to access and reach it from wherever they are.
The Business Hub assisted 4,968 SMMEs and entrepreneurs through its training programme, last year in 2024. This included officially registered city vendors who exposed procurement opportunities and small enterprises. They also received training on doing business in the public and private sectors.
As per the sources, the Productivity Efficiency Programme helped 17 enterprises to improve their operations in retaining a collective 509 jobs.

Considering this, Member of the Mayoral Committee for Economic Growth – Alderman James Vos said that SMMEs account for 80% of South Africa’s workforce while generating an estimated turnover of more than R5 trillion.
However, it clearly showed that how pivotal they are for holding up the economy. Small businesses are a lifeline of employment, innovation and the economy. It supported SMMEs with unique platforms, in order to help them in maintaining and grow operations, as they are driving an economically-sustainable environment.
Alderman Vos said that these are the major reasons to run these programmes, to prepare the groundwork, and ensure that the ecosystem works well and they can see that the impact is truly worthwhile.

Adding up to this training support programme, the Business Hub is also on standby to assist enterprises with information related to red tape, financing and other enterprise growth queries, confirmed James Vos.
Following this, the City of Cape Town officials have urged the residents to roll out their names and sign up by registering themselves for the Business Hub 2025 training support programme which is being observed under Investec Cape Town.
