Zambia: Red Arrows Coach Chisi Mbewe has said the second round is for positivity and correcting all mistakes the team made in the first round.
He said the second round is key. As such, all team members should be ready and prepared to sacrifice and die for the team if set objectives are to be met.
He said the Airmen are determined to finish the season on a positive note, adding that the team has prepared well for the Nkana match.
Chisi spoke to Arrow’s media later in the day after the team workout.
“Our expectations for tomorrow against Nkana is going for a positive result. Obviously, it’s not going to be an easy game, but the team has prepared so well, and we hope for the best to end the year,” explained Chisi.
He said players ruled out for the encounter included Tomas Zulu, Keke Sipuka and Cephas Handavu, who were diagnosed with fever. Others are Winford Sikanyika, with a knee injury, and the other two are Ruddy Makwekwe and Twiza Chaibela, whose recovery has been encouraging.
He explained that George Mandu had fully recovered but was now working on fitness; otherwise, the rest of the team was available for selection.
As the year 2023 draws to a close, fans will be treated to an exciting match in the Super League as the Airmen host the Kitwe Giants in their first game of the second round.
With the away team in high spirits following a 1-0 win against Zanaco and the home team full of confidence after securing their third consecutive qualification for the Absa Cup, both sides are poised for an exciting match.
