Zambia: The Zambia Women National Football Team have been working hard to prepare for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The Copper Queens are highly motivated to represent their nation well at the international stage after qualifying for the Sports event.

They beat the Moroccan Women’s team well back in April to make it into the Paris Olympics. The Copper Queens managed to defeat the Moroccan girls 2-0, gaining a lead in their group.

The victory of the Zambian Women’s Team, The Copper Queens was celebrated by football lovers across Zambia. The members of the community have extended their best wishes to the team and wished for them to do well at the international event.

In line with the expectations of the team’s admirers, the Queens are giving their best to prepare for the upcoming event.

Coach of the team, Bruce Mwape and his technical bench have been preparing the Copper Queens for the event for the last two weeks. The coach has claimed that they are dedicated to doing giving their best performance at Paris Olympics.

The team, sans the five foreign based players, have been training in the camp with their team. The remaining foreign based players will join camp in Europe in the final stages of preparation for the 12-team tournament.

Mwape and his technical bench will travel with a 22-member squad for the European camp. On reaching the camp, the Queens will play two international friendly football matches to warm up for the tournament.

The Olympics tournament will start on July 24.

Zambia will open its account on July 25 when they will be facing the United States of America at the Stade de Nice. Following this, the team will be playing Australia three days later at the same venue.

The final group match will be up against Germany in St Etienne.

Mwape’s Copper Queens are making their second appearance at the Olympics which has been flavoured with a historic FIFA World Cup appearance and a WAFCON bronze medal.
