South Africa: Cricket South Africa is hosting the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Indaba at the Irene Country Lodge in Pretoria. The Indaba Conference will be hosted over the course of three days with several experts of the field in attendance.
The event, which will run from August 26 to August 28 will see former players of South African cricket team in attendance. The organizers will also welcome CEOs, Cricket Services Managers (CSMs), Coaches, and Developers.
The cricket south Africa has organized the event to reflect on the successes and failures of the previous decade. They focussed on the developments of the previous five years and discussed the path moving forward.
The event will follow up on the agendas of the Trasnformation Indaba which was hosted almost half a decade ago. During the conference, the cricket stakeholders discussed some of the aims set for the future.
During the upcoming conference, they assess the progress made by the cricket ecosystem over the past five years. The officials and stakeholders of the cricket board of south Africa will discuss the various ways in which they can take the sport to a different level.
The conference will feature several former and present cricket players, player management and other stakeholders of the nation. The officials have shared that they will discuss the strategies for advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives within cricket in South Africa.
The 16 Cricket South Africa affiliates will be represented by Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Chairpersons. The CEOs of the cricket sector Cricket Services Managers (CSMs), Coaches, and Developers will also be present.
Further, the other stakeholders of the cricket sector will also be in attendance at the Indaba. The officials have shared that they will discuss the selection patterns for the team.
The aim of the conference is to make sure that talented players from diverse communities feel included in the development of the sport.
They will work on trends and quality of opportunities given to the talented players. They will ensure that the stakeholders can give the deserving candidates the opportunity to develop their talents from the grassroots.
The officials have shared that they will work towards strengthening organisational leadership and diversity, equity, and inclusion in the sport.
