Dominica: Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) and National Bank of Dominica Ltd. (NBD) has announced strategic partnership of two-years. This association aims to enhance the cultural, tourism and community development initiatives of the nature island.
Reportedly, the collaboration was announced during the press conference in Roseau, which will provide both financial and in-kind support to national and grassroots events across the island.
This partnership will see NBD serving as the Premium Bank Sponsor for the 25th edition of the World Creole Music Festival (WCMF), as a flagship event in Dominica’s cultural calendar.
NBD launched the Grand Independence Promotion ‘25 Years, 25 Big Wins’, to celebrate the milestone anniversary. The promotion offers customers a chance to win one of the 25 prizes that include cash rewards, festival tickets, and branded merchandise through credit card purchases or new sign-ups. Also, all the participants will be eligible for a grand prize of EC $2,500 that is to be awarded in November 2025.
This two-year partnership also guarantees NBD’s support for a wide range of cultural events, such as Mas Dominik, Jazz and Creole, Ti Vilaj Kwéyòl, Breakfast Fete and various community carnival activities. The NBD will also engage in fringe events such as Rize and Whine and White Sunset, that offers interactive ‘Scan & Win $250’ promotions at designated lounges and QR stations.
Furthermore, in collaboration with NexConnex, NBD will sponsor the #WCMF2025 Art Gallery, as an initiative to showcase the work of Dominica artisans and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The gallery will enable seamless purchases, by providing direct support to local creators, who are equipped with NBD point-of-sale machines.
Considering this, Marketing Manager at NBD – Michelle Joseph said that this is more than sponsorship and emphasised its significance. This is partnership in action, where culture, community and commerce are working together with NBD as the bridge.
The initiative aligns with NBD’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles.
Notably, Dominica is preparing for its Independence celebrations and this partnership underscores NBD’s dedication to foster cultural pride, support small businesses and strengthen community ties. The formed association is set to run through 2027 and will mark a sustained investment in the island’s cultural and economic landscape.
