Botswana: The Security Department at Debswana Jwaneng Mine held a Family Fun Day at the Rugby Grounds on Thursday. The members of the organization have shared that the aim of the event was to raise funds.
The funds generated through the family fun day were to be used for the company’s Community Social Investment projects in Samane Village. The theme of the Family fun day was ‘Fun for Charity’ and the day was and part of the Employee Volunteerism Program.
As per the company spokespersons, the event aimed to promote family bonding while supporting community initiatives. The initiative aligning with Debswana Diamond Company’s ‘Show We Care’ value.
The officials have shared some images from the event on their social media and shared several glimpses from the day. The officials have shared that the members of the community, the leaders of the Debswana and some employees were present at the Family fun day.
The members of the organization shared that the Debswana Jwaneng Mine had been working hard to support the vulnerable community of Botswana. Accordingly, they have made several s donations to the organization.
Event Coordinator Neo Seate highlighted the aim of the event and reflected on the charity which would be support in the event. She also emphasized the day’s dual purpose: strengthening bonds among families, friends, and colleagues while raising funds for a worthy cause.
Activities included tug-of-war, egg and sack races, a friendly football match, and educational games for children. The Wellness Department also provided health screenings to the attendants, which some of the attendants.
The Security Department has adopted Samane Village with plans to renovate Leobo la Kgotla and electrify VDC houses among other projects, supporting Botswana’s Vision 2036 on social development.
