Botswana: The Department of Business Service has organized an annual retreat and planning workshop for the department leadership. Under this mandate, the leadership of the department of business services took the leadership to Selebi Phikwe.

The Acting Director for the Department of Business Services in the Ministry of Trade and Industry Tebo Motswagae talked to the department leadership during the annual retreat. He informed them about the plans of the department to promote better business environment.

At the same time, he announced that they would be working towards the creation of of a conducive investment climate in Botswana.

He delivered the welcome remarks to members of the department of Business Services who attended the annual retreat. In his remarks, he highlighted that they have to work towards achieving the targets that have been set under the DBS.

Motswagae noted that achieving these targets will help give the country better business environment and investment platforms. The retreat was aimed at giving the members of the department the opportunity to reflect on how they can help grow the department.

The Acting Director asserted that the Department needs to meet its set targets. He added that this is instrumental in the overall national aspirations to make Botswana attractive as a destination of choice for investors.

He indicated that the Department is crucial in the overall mandate of the Ministry as it drives the key objectives of improving the ease of doing business environment and improving business & market intelligence.

Motswagae further highlighted that stakeholder engagements are important, not only in coordination of doing business reforms but also identifying new doing business reforms from Studies conducted by different Government Ministries as well as Independent Departments and State Owned Enterprises.

The four (4) days retreat offers an invaluable opportunity for the whole team to review performance from the last financial year and project that into a shared future, which is result oriented to generally improve business environment and create a conducive investment climate in Botswana.
