Zimbabwe: The perfect destination for travellers is a house of Victoria Falls and wildlife national parks. The landlocked country is situated in southern Africa.
The African country is popularly known for its dramatic landscape and diverse wildlife. It mainly includes parks, reserves and safari areas.
The pretty Victoria Falls, located on the Zambezi River, makes a thundering drop of 108 meters into the narrow Batoka Gorge. Visitors can experience adventures such as white-water rafting, bungee-jumping, etc.
At the down-streams of Zimbabwe, travellers will find Matusadona and Mana Pools National Parks that are home to hippopotamuses, rhinoceroses, and other birds. Tourists who have visited before had an amazing time experiencing the jungle safari.

Recently, the renowned travel company of Africa, East Cape Tours has recognised Zimbabwe and mentioned some well-defined reasons to visit the country. The list consists of attractive places such as Victoria Falls, Chinhoyi Caves National Park, Zimbabwe National Monument in Masvingo, Mana Pools National Park and many others.
While preparing for a trip to Zimbabwe, backpackers need to take care of some things. Especially some essential documents that needed to be handled with care.
For travelling to Zimbabwe or any other international border crossing, remember to carry the following necessary documents:
- Passport – that ensures the validity of six months and citizenship of the traveller.
- Birth certificates – carry the birth certificates along if travelling with children below the age of eighteen.
- Affidavit – it is mandatory to carry an affidavit in instances where one parent is unavailable.
Also, stay alert and avoid displaying cash openly. Tourists must also carry a copy of their passport and visa and can leave their original documents in hotel for the safety purposes.
Visitors must stay away from political rallies, demonstrations and overly crowded places. Stay updated and follow up with local media for breaking events. Prepare and adjust according to the plans. Keep travel documents updated and easily accessible.
There are some other necessary things which applicants need to take care of while applying for the visa:
- Make sure that the passport is valid for at least six months from the date of arrival at the destination.
- The visitor’s passport must consider two blank pages for stamping by the Immigration Officer.
- The tourist must provide the information on the form that matches the details provided on the passport to avoid any delay in the visa.
- After receiving the visa in the mailbox, applicants should check carefully the duration of stay allowed.
- The regular check will avoid unexpected troubles or penalties.
- The applicants should also bring the printout of the visa along with them.
Notably, Zimbabwe offers visas in three particular categories for international travellers:
- Category-A: Travelers from Category-A do not require a visa for Zimbabwe.
- Category-B: Travelers from the countries that come under Category-B are issued a Zimbabwe tourist visa on arrival.
- Category-C: Under this category, travellers must apply for a visa prior to departure. They can apply for the visa online through iVisa.

A few days ago, the Government of Zimbabwe resolved the issue and made it easier for the tourists. The government has recently implemented an electronic visa application system for international travel.
Travellers can now apply for visas entirely online. The approved documents will be sent to the applicants via e-mail. The travellers then just have to print the documents and present them to the local authorities after arriving in Zimbabwe.
As per the information, the travel documents will remain valid for total 90 days, only after getting issued. It is possible for the applicants now to choose from single-entry or double-entry visa.
