Dominica: The Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) conducted a promotional mission in St. Maarten. The objective of the mission was to promote Tourism and Festival which began on Sept 02, 2025 till Sept 06, 2025.
The promotional mission generated significant visibility and strengthened anticipation for the successful World Creole Music Festival (WCMF), that is scheduled to occur between Oct 24 to 26, 2025.
Promotional Event at Oyster Bay Resort
This mission featured a press conference on Wednesday, Sept 03, 2025 at Infinity Restaurant in Oyster Bay Resort. The promotion was done enthusiastically and was broadcasted live on the selected and renowned media outlets in St. Maarten and Dominica. The event highlighted the special attractions of Dominica, which included #WCMF2025 and appearances by St. Maarten based artists for the festival.
Media Gathering while Promoting Tourism and Festivals
Along with the arranged press conference, Discover Dominica Authority representatives conducted several press interviews at radio and digital platforms. These interviews conveyed tourism message clearly from Dominica and promoted the #WCMF2025 as a premier regional cultural event to visit. They also engaged with the communities, which was also a major component of their mission.
Dominica Night Attracted Enthusiasts
Also, Dominica Night was organised on Sept 05, 2025 at Tj Cassava Coal Pot which attracted enthusiastic audience with a live performance by WCMF artist Rohie. The five days free cultural event involved attendees in Dominica’s music and festivities. It reinforced the regional appeal of the festival.
These promotional activities were led by the Public Relations and Communications Specialist – Monelle Alexis and Marketing Executive Markerah George. They indulged in talks with media, partners and the public throughout the week.
Considering this promotional tour, Alexis said that St. Maarten embraced Dominica with warmth and enthusiasm. Response was received from both media and the public that demonstrated the strong regional connection to the culture and the growing excitement for the World Creole Music Festival.
Furthermore, the DDA appreciated the media outlets. They acknowledged tourism partners, artists and the St. Maarten public for their collaboration and cooperation, during the promotional event. The organisation will continue its regional promotional campaign. In the coming weeks, it will begin with its promotional activities to drive arrival of visitors to Dominica.
