Dominica officially opened its 2025-26 Cruise Season on Wednesday, Oct 15, 2025 that aims to be Dominica’s biggest cruise season. The island welcomed the MV Grand Princess at the Woodbridge Bay Port.
The nature island observed the energy, culture and excitement filled with positive vibes. A brief ceremony was arranged on board where the remarks were delivered by the Mayor of Rosseau – Ermine Sandra Royer; Marketing Officer of Whitchurch Shipping – Desma Patrick and Deputy General Manager of Dominica Air & Sea Ports Authority – Carolla Belle.
CEO/Director of Tourism of Discover Dominica Authority – Marva Williams was also present at the ceremony to welcome the MV Grand Princess’ Captain – Stefano Ravera.
The official welcome ceremony at the Woodbridge Bay Port concluded with a mutual gift exchange between the local officials and the captain of the ship. It was a symbolic gesture of partnership, that Dominica has set the stage for a strong season ahead.
Notably, over the course of this season, Dominica is expecting to welcome:
- 475,000 Cruise Passengers
- 274 Cruise Calls
- 13 Inaugural Visits from major international lines, and
- Will witness 38% increase than last year
However, Dominica is ready to welcome the world marking a remarkable cruise season. Each call represented an opportunity to support the local businesses by strengthening partnerships and showcasing the warmth and authenticity of the Nature Island to the world.
