Dominica: School Boyz Football 2022/23 – 13 and Under Division

Dominica: The 13 and Under division in the Sports Division Secondary Schools Football Championship got off the ground on Tuesday, 10th January 2023, with a doubleheader on the Newtown Savannah.

Dominica: The 13 and Under division in the Sports Division Secondary Schools Football Championship got off the ground on Tuesday, 10th January 2023, with a doubleheader on the Newtown Savannah.

In game one, the Castle Bruce Secondary School defeated Saint Mary’s Academy by three goals to 1. Taran George scored two goals, and Nikaeyel Laurent 1 for the Castle Bruce Secondary School. Eion Oscar scored the lone goal for the Saint Mary’s Academy from the penalty spot.

In the second game, the Dominica Grammar School got the better of the Pierre Charles Secondary School by four goals to nil.

Micah Ettienne and Jayan Lockhart scored one goal each, and two own goals by Pierre Charles Secondary defenders completed the scoring for Dominica Grammar School.

On the other hand, a school girl’s Netball match occurred in which girls made an impressive start to the 2023 Sports Division Secondary Schools Netball Championship.

Five games were played at three venues on the opening day of the championship at Portsmouth:

In the Under 16 division
Portsmouth Secondary 14
Isaiah Thomas Secondary 8
Jewel Benjamin, ten and Lemayah Forde, 4, were the scorers for PSS, Mamina Jeune 6 and Faith Vidal 2 scored for ITSS.

In the Under 20 division:

Rohena Paul, 23 and Marissa Andrew, 7, were the main scorers for Academics
Talisa St.Louis 10 and Safiya McPherson 6 were the main scorers for PSS.

At the CHS Grounds :

Kenya John, 22 and Beata Vidal, 5, were the main scorers for CHS
Rochelle Marshall, three and Selena Wayland, 3 scored for DGS

At Castle Bruce :

Shanika Bellot, 8, Earlanda Tavernier, six and Kaydine Wilkinson, ten scored for NECS.
Diane Augustine, three and Celina Winston, 2, scored for CBSS

Kelly Nation, 23, Earlanda Tavernier, 19 and Shakira Bellot, 5, scored for NECS Beatrice Thomas 2 and Tansha Drigo 2 were the main scorers for CBSS.

Prior to the commencement of the matches, the schools were presented with a netball compliments the Sports Division.

The championship continues on Thursday 12th, with two matches at Wesley :
