South Africa: The MEC for Education, Mr Bonakele Majuba, will announce the National Senior Certificate Examination Results at the occasion which will take place on Friday, 20 January 2023, at the University of Mpumalanga from 09H00.
This follows the approval by Umalusi, the Council for Quality Assurance of General and Further Education and Training. To this end, Umalusi said, amongst other issues:
“The EXCO of Umalusi Council examined all the evidence provided and determined that the National Senior Certificate Examination was generally conducted in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations. The inconsistencies revealed during the writing and assessing of the examinations were not widespread and did not affect the overall trustworthiness and legitimacy of the November 2022 National Senior Certificate examinations administered by the Department of Basic Education (DBE). As a result, the Executive Committee of the Council has given their approval for the official release of the DBE November 2022 National Senior Certificate examinations results.”
At the same time, the Department encourages all Grade 12 learners of the class of 2022 to collect their statement of results from their respective schools.
It is also advisable that parents accompany their children to school to collect the examination results on the same day. This will enable schools to explain in detail the content of the statements and for parents to ask questions of clarity on the spot.
Furthermore, schools will be able to explain options that are available for learners based on the outcome of their results.
The occasion Announcement of the 2022 National Senior Certificate Examination Results will be broadcast live on Rise FM, Radio Pulpit and in 15 Community Radio Stations within the Province.
It will also be streamed live on the Mpumalanga Department of Education Social Media Platforms- Facebook and Twitter.
The Department is encouraging schools to make arrangements for the class of 2023 to follow the event to get inspiration, as the results of the top learners will be announced on the day.
The Department is looking forward to a positive outcome judging by the commitment and dedication of all the Education stakeholders, including teachers and learners.
