KwaZulu Natal (Hazelmere): Sexual assault against two sisters by their father came to light after the victims confided in a family member on Saturday afternoon.
An uncle of five (5) and six (6) year old girls reported the incident to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) at approx. 01:44 on Saturday afternoon.
Reaction Officers & a female Paramedic were immediately dispatched. On arrival, a relative led Officers to the suspect’s residence. Both children were located in the house. The father fled prior to the arrival of First Responders.
It was alleged that the father sexually assaulted both girls on multiple occasions. In December 2023, while he was travelling with them in his car, he touched them inappropriately. The girls previously informed a relative, who immediately advised their mother.
According to the family member, the mother requested that the matter not be reported to RUSA. She feared that Reaction Officers would arrest her husband. She assured them that she would address the matter privately with her spouse. The female was at her place of employment when her family contacted the RUSA Operations Center and reported the abuse this afternoon.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) were called to the scene to investigate the matter further. Residents are saying that Crime is going beyond their words. One of the residents said, “Imagine being hurt….humiliated…used by the two people who should have been the ones to protect them from the negativity of the world … what was the mother thinking…….these two little children would now have trust issues… I pray they find strength to overcome this …I just can’t understand how a father can ever do something so vile…”
“Disgusting to call themselves parents, instead of protecting their own children they harming them people like this don’t belong in society… Imprisonment is the place for them,” said another user.
