Botswana Tertiary Education Students Sports Association (BOTESSA) is hosting an annual FNB BOTESSA Track and Field Championships from Saturday, April 27, 2024 and April 28, 2024. The Track and Field event will be conducted at National Sports Stadium from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
At the sports event people will get to witness the incredible talent of Botswana’s tertiary students as they will compete for glory in the FNB BOTESSA Track and Field Championships.
First National Bank of Botswana (FNB) is proud to be a sponsor of BOTESSA and confirms, “We are committed to empower the young athletes and inspire them to greatness. We invite one and all to come and show their support.”
They urged people to visit the stadium at the FNB Activation Zone, through their statement. FNB further added, “We will be ready to help you with anything FNB. Bring your valid Omang or passport, proof of income and proof of residence. We will help you to check and update your KYC, account opening, insurance policies and more.
This year at 2024 BOTESSA Athletics Championship it will be an honour to meet the stars, especially Lone Madzimule from Botswana Accountancy College, who took silver in the 100m and 200m race at BOTESSA Athletics Championship 2023.
The sprinter will participate this year too and there are chances that she might grab a gold this time.
Botswana Tertiary Student Sports Association (BOTESSA) is an umbrella body for all sports codes that are considered in the tertiary institutions of Botswana. It follows the motto of Developing the body and mind.
The organisation was formed with a view of providing organised sporting links amongst Post-Secondary (Tertiary) Institutions in Botswana. Therefore, all the tertiary institutions in Botswana are eligible to be responsible members.
BOTESSA objectives to propagate the physical training and sports as an indispensable component of human personality development as well as for the development of friendship in sports competitions.
Along with managing the athletic events, it is mandatory for BOTESSA to organise clinics, workshops and allied courses that provide training and development for its affiliated members. BOTESSA also conducts regional and international sports activities.
It is directly affiliated to the institution, Confederation of Colleges and Universities in Southern Africa (CUCSA) and is indirectly connected, to the African University Sports Federation (FASU) and International University Sports Federation (FISU).
