He also announced that the Gaborone City Council is willing to work with other cities to facilitate regional developments.

Abraham said Gaborone plans to facilitate the Mayor’s forum for the Southern Africa Development Community. He added that this will help the member nations to come up with initiatives that can help fast-track developments in their respective countries.

The initiative is designed to help the countries of southern Africa come together and assist each other in developmental initiatives. The two cities have sought collaboration on many issues over the years, which makes them indispensable partners to each other.

He advised that both cities should appoint focal persons to implement the contents of the memorandum.

High Commissioner Macheve added that they are willing to facilitate all the necessary arrangements for the continuity of the memorandum. The organization has pledged to work on creating excellent working relations with Botswana.
