Global Life Sharing donates medicines, medical supplies to Malawi

Global Life Sharing has donated medical goods worth US$ 922,000 to the Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA)

Malawi: Global Life Sharing has donated medical goods worth US$ 922,000 to the Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA). The Government of Malawi is extremely happy to receive the donation from the organization.

The medical goods will help the country in developing their healthcare sector. The handover ceremony took place at the Ministry of Health Headquarters at Capitol Hill in Lilongwe on November 29, 2023.

The Ministry of Health and the government of Malawi shared some pictures from the event on their social media. The Country Representative for Global Life Sharing was also present on behalf of the organisation’s president. she delivered some brief remarks.

Yung Duk-Clara Cho spoke at the handover ceremony on behalf of the organisation’s president, Jungnam Kim. She was happy to see the donations reach the people of Malawi and pledged the organization’s continued support to the people.

Meanwhile, the event was also attended by several representatives of the Malawi government. The attendants included representatives and stakeholders from:

  • Department of Disaster Management Affairs
  • Ministry of Health

and other organs of the government.

The stakehoders present at the event talked about the importance of the donation for the people of Malawi. They also talked about how the donation will help the various segments of the government.

Director of Preparedness and Response in the Department of Disaster Management Affairs, Rev. Moses Chimphepo said the donation will not only go to DoDMA. It will also be extended to the Ministry of Health, Daeyoung University, Daeyoung Luke Hospital, Ministry of Education and Shaping Our Future Foundation.

Principal Secretary responsible for Administration in the Ministry of Health, Beston Chisamile also commended Global Life Sharing for its commitment and unwavering support to Malawi.

“Let me take this opportunity to thank Global Life Sharing for providing this donation which will go a long way towards alleviating the challenges which the victims of Cyclone Freddy are facing,” Chisamile said, adding that Cyclone Freddy victims need the donation most.

The donated assorted items include medicines and medical supplies.
