Gombato Youth takes 3 Day Town Cleanup Mission

The Gombato Youth for Change successfully marked the conclusion of their three-day mission of dedicated town cleanup in Gombato ward Yesterday, (Saturday) November 25, 2023. The mission was joined by the local Kwale County government and the people from the nearby locality. People voluntarily collected waste and dumped items, such as bottles, empty cans and papers.

The County Government also took charge of cleaning the public places. They also empowered the local youth about the importance of environmental sustainability. They also announced their plan to get contracts with the youth for conservation and waste management projects.

This initiative was done as a contribution to promote environmental conservation and sustainable development.

The Gombato Youth for Change Organisation extended their pleasure and thanked all the fantastic young people who volunteered and came up for this initiative. They also thanked them for joining hands in this amazing mission of transforming their town.

They also thanked the Kwale County Government for leading the charge in empowering youth. The Organisation also thanked them for taking charge of environmental conservation and waste management.

Reportedly, The Gombato Youth for Change is a youth-led, community-based organization founded to advocate against the natural environment. The organization has continuously worked to address the district’s local problems at the ground level.

Recently, the Organisation has called a Delegation from several other civil society organizations in the county for environmental conservation.

The Delegation had an opportunity to interact with each other. They also engaged in one-to-one conversations. Their discussion aimed to create a joint project of Diani sustainability collective, which HERI KENYA facilitates

This project has brought stakeholders together to collaborate to solve environmental and waste issues related to making fertilizers.
