Bentiu, South Sudan: Governor Lt Gen Dr Joseph Manytuil Wejang, on Tuesday 10th April 2023, joined hundreds of mourners at Rubkona Airport to bid his tribute to the Paramount Chief of Leek Community, Late Sultan Robert Tungwar Kueiguong, whose body flown from Juba for burial in his home town, Rubkona County.
The leaders who came from Juba to attend the burial and bid their last respect to the late Sultan Robert Tungwar Kueiguong, including Deputy Speaker of Council of States R.t Bapiny Manytuil Wejang, Minister of Water and Irrigation, Pal Mai and Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth. State government dignitaries, chiefs, IDP communities, and family members also attended the burial.
Speaking to the Press, Dr Joseph Manytuil Wejang said the late paramount chief was a unified factor that people of Unity State celebrate his life as an icon, and the next generation would remember his legacy.
Late Sultan Robert Tungwar Kueiguong passed on in Juba on 2nd April 2023 after a short illness at the age of 87 years.
South Sudan Gen. Taban Deng Gai, Vice President and Chairperson of Infrastructure Cluster, this morning has seen off the body of late Sultan Robert Tungwar Kuei-guong Reat, Paramount chief of Leek Community at Juba International Airport.
Late Sultan Robert Tungwar Kuei-guong Reat passed on in Juba on 2nd April 2023 after a short illness. He is the paramount chief of the Leek Community of Rubkona County in Unity State. The body is taken to the Unity state capital of Bentiu for burial in his home town of Rubkona.
Many Ministers of Juba or South Sudan send their condolences to the family, relatives and friends of the late Sultan Robert Tungwar Kueiguong Reat. His death has created a vacuum not only for Leek Nyalthiang or Unity State in particular but for the whole of South Sudan.
Late Sultan has contributed tirelessly towards the success of the SPLA since its inception in the early 80s. Yesterday afternoon, Late Robert Tungwar Kueiguong Mother was also laid to rest in peace in his home town Rubkona County; their bodies flowed off from Juba International Airport.
