Botswana: Green Botswana Trust has handed over gardens to White City Day Care Centre. The aim off the donation is to make sure that the city remains beautiful and green.
The members of the Green Botswana Trust visited the office of the Gaborone City Council. Tthey underhee officials have shared that through this donation, they want to support Gaborone City Council’s effort of city upkeep.
The administration has shared that it is important for the people of the nation to make sure that they understand the importance of hygiene and upkeep in the city. The officials have shared they are grateful for the support from various organizations in the upkeep and beautification of Gaborone City.
The officials have shared the images from the meeting of the Green Botswana Trust and the day care recipients of the gardens. The Gaborone City Council has been working hard to include the various members of the community to their efforts to promote the beautification of the capital city.
It is to be established that the new gardens will help not only in making the environment beautiful, but also serve as a positive step for the environment.
The council has been a part of several greenery maintenance exercises around Gaborone City. The maintenance of forest cover and greenery is a part of Botswana’s Vision 36 pillar of a Sustainable Environment.

Upon viewing the gardens, Acting Senior Home Economic Officer Ms. Basadi Gaolebe expressed her gratitude towards this noble gesture. She said this initiative comes at the time as the City is tirelessly working on ensuring a green and beautiful city.
In her remarks, the founder of Green Botswana Trust Sela Motshwane said her organization is highly engaged in promoting greenery. She noted that she intends to continue working with Gaborone City Council and requested places where they could plant as many trees and plants in order to contribute to a greener place
