South Africa: Wesgro was recognised with the platinum award in the Green Stand Awards at Meetings Africa 2025. Cape Town and the Western Cape Convention Bureau, powered by Wesgro represented the destination together with 10 sharing exhibitors on a Western Cape Pavilion at the 19th edition of the two-day trade event.
Reportedly, the trade event was hosted by the South African Tourism. It served as a powerful platform and brought together the diverse continental and national industry bodies in the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitors (MICE) sector to showcase their offerings to international and local buyers.
The Green Stand Awards recognise exhibitors who demonstrate their commitment to sustainability and environmental along with the responsibility in their stand design and operations.
The award clarifies the strategic focus of Wesgro on sustainability that underpins the mission to drive economic growth, strengthen competitiveness and also create jobs.
As per the sources, Green Stand Awards Meetings Africa 2025 observed the 19th advent of the Business Events Trade Show, owned by the South African Tourism. It was organised with the specific objective of creating a market access platform, especially for African Business Events Products.
The event was as a primary platform for both the participants and the investors. It enabled the growth of the business events industry on the continent and ultimately contributed towards the economic growth of the nation.
Furthermore, Meetings Africa 2025 was a two-day trade show with a dedicated educational day, titled – ‘BONDay’. It was executed in conjunction with the key global, continental and national industry associations.
Such events provide a platform for exhibitors to showcase their offerings to International and Local Buyers, as well as to the African Associations and Corporate Planners. It is the most formidable platform on the continent for the participants to meet face-to-face with the most influential buyers in the world and to become part of the growth of Africa.
