The City of Cape Town reminds the residents and interested parties to comment on the proposal to upgrade and construct active mobility of non-motorised transport infrastructure in Wesbank, Blackheath and Blue Downs. The deadline to submit the comments is by Friday, Mar 07, 2025.
Reportedly, the project holds a lot of scope that includes; upgrading and maintaining active mobility facilities in Wesbank, Blackheath and Blue Downs, while ensuring facilities are universally accessible.
It will also include upgrading and installing dropped kerbs and tactile ground surface indicators for the visually impaired. It will upgrade pedestrian crossings by shortening the crossing distances as well as improving signage and road markings. It will also introduce protected cycle lanes where applicable.
