Zambia: The Police Force of Lusaka is looking for a 33-year-old man hailing from the Kalikiliki Compound concerning the death of his girlfriend. The suspect has been identified as Moffat Zulu.
The victim whose death put Moffat under the radar has been identified as Florence Mulemasaka. The 30-year-old deceased was a resident of Mtendere East. The death in question happened on March 10 in the house of Moffat Zulu.
The Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Danny Mwale confirmed the incident and shared the details of the incident. According to the official statement, the deceased was found unconscious inside the suspect’s room on 10th March, 2024.
The officials have shared that the neighbour of the suspect found the body around 12:30 hours, leaving them shocked. Mwale says Police Officers went to the scene after they were alerted of the incident. The officials found the victim lying unresponsive on the bed facing upwards while the suspect had run away.
The Police Public Relations officer also announced that they discovered blood stains on the mattress, bedsheets and a curtain. The police force started their investigation into the death which revealed that the suspect had been staying with the girlfriend since 7th March, 2024.
Further, the investigation revealed that on 10th March, around 12:30 hours. The suspect informed his 64-year-old father that his girlfriend was unwell.
As a result of this, the suspect needed money to take her to the hospital. He notes that the suspect’s father approached one of the neighbours for help and a Taxi was called.
The Police Public Relations officer, however, says while waiting for the vehicle, the said neighbour went to check on the patient only to discover that she was unconscious. He states that Police Officers rushed the victim to the hospital where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The people of the country have asked the police force to serve justice to the deceased, urging them to arrest the suspect quickly.
