Kenya: The government of Kenya, under the Ministry of Health, is working on eradicating cholera from the various communities within the country. The stakeholders of the healthcare sector of the country have been working diligently for this mandate.

The Ministry of Health has collaborated with the World Health Organization to hand over water quality testing kits in the Dadaab Sub-county. This handover was a part of the cholera management Training. The Ministry of Health has been working on the initiative of eradicating cholera from the country for several years.

The Ministry of Health in the government of Kenya shared glimpses of the handover ceremony on their social media. The country’s people have shared their appreciation for the organizations involved in the initiative.

The people of the country have shared that they are seeing the efforts of the Ministry of Health in eradicating cholera from the country. The Permanent Secretary and other stakeholders of the healthcare ministry have received support from the World Health Organization.

During this week’s 10-day integrated cholera management training in Dadaab Subcounty, a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization, a water quality testing kit was officially handed over to the Public Health Department.

This kit will play a crucial role in testing and monitoring water quality in the Hagadera refugee camp, contributing to better public health.

The training encompasses various essential elements, including infection prevention and control, sanitation in health facilities, chlorine solution preparation for disinfection, drinking water quality testing and monitoring, risk communication, community engagement, case management, laboratory testing, nutrition, disease surveillance, and community leader and health volunteer sensitization.
