Kenya: Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy Sports Ababu Namwamba, flagged off a Youthful Kenyan delegation to India. The cabinet secretary paid a courtesy call to the youngsters before their departure.
The youngsters will be travelling to India for a two-week exchange program.
The programme has been curated as a formal inter-government partnership for knowledge advancement and cultural exposure. The aim of the initiative is to ensure that the two countries can partner up in a productive manner and ensure mutually beneficial development for their people.
“We are delighted with this opportunity that enables you to participate in diverse activities, empowering you to become global citizens,” he observed.
The students who are participating in the exchange programme to India will have the opportunity to explore the diversity of India. They will understand and appreciate the cultural differences of the two nations and learn to respect the differences.
The Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba shared their appreciation for the initiative and said that the initiative will help the youngsters of Kenya.
In line with this, Cabinet Secretary Namwamba expressed his gratitude at the Indian government for the incredible partnership over the years. The people of Kenya and he parents of the students chosen for the exchange programme appreciated the partnership.
“Evidently, India has had a long-standing relationship with Kenya and we look forward to strengthening this bond further,” the CS observed while bidding farewell to the delegation.
CS Ababu lauded International Youth Fellowship (IYP) in his address of the students. He called the initaitive important partner of the government of Kenya moreso considering its acclaimed ‘mind education’ that seeks to inculcate responsible citizenship.
Wrapping the courtesy call, the CS took the team on a tour of the #TalantaHela Hall of Fame. The aim of the tour was to have students appreciate the iconic names gracing the legendary walls of the hall, owing to their immense contribution to Kenya’s sports ecosystem.
