Kenya: The Kenya Ports Authority men’s volleyball team defeated the Police Volleyball Club of Rwanda (PVC) with a smart beginning into the 45th African Volleyball Club Championship in Cairo, Egypt.
The KPA Dockers defeated the Police team of Rwanda through jump service and tight blocks that yielded the first set 25-17.
The good beginning motivated them as they returned back to the pitch with guns blazing to signal their intention to carry on the day.
The Rwandese did not budge in and instead put their best foot forward to stop the KPA Dockers and lifted the second set with 23-25.
Coming to the third set, the KPA appeared as more focused despite the strong resistance by the re-energized Rwanda Police. To win the game, the Dockers had to change their game plan to outsmart their opponent.
Reportedly, the Head-Coach James Ontere called for time outs that surprisingly worked in their favour forcing the opponent to succumb 25-21. At the fourth set, it was seen that the Dickers were in high spirits as they never looked back and ended the game at 25-20.
As per the sources, the KPA Men will play against the University of Zimbabwe Wolves Volleyball Club around 8:00 p.m. The Dockers will play their third game against the Green Buffalos Volleyball Club of Zambia on Tuesday around 2:00 p.m.
