Botswana: The results of the 2023 Botswana General Certificate for Secondary Education (BGCSE) have been declared. Notably, Kgari Sechele and Mogoditshane schools of kweneng have been featured in the list of top ten best performing schools in the country.
The schools from across the country have given their best performance in the 2023 BGCSE exams. The Kgari Sechele secondary school has claimed the third spot in the top ten list. Further, the Mogoditshane Secondary School has been placed in the seventh place.
The Kweneng Regional Operations expressed that they are delighted with the results of the 2023 academic year. The Kgari Sechele and Mogoditshane secondary schools are a part of the Kweneng district educational sector.
The celebration for the achievements have already started in the Kgari Sechele Senior Secondary School. The regional office staff led by the Director Steve Bothasitse joined the members of the community to present the results.
The results for the schools were officially presented to Kgosi Kgari Sechele III. The Kweneng Regional Operations has asserted that they are proud of the students for their hardwork and dedication.
Director of Regional Operations Steve Bothasitse spoke briefly at the handover of the results. He noted that there is gradual performance improvement in the region over the past consecutive years. The district was at the nationwide position of 28 in year 2020.
The school then climbed to position 20 in 2021. Further, they improved by another few spots and claimed position 16 in 2022.
Currently, they are on the third position nationwide due to the collective effort of the teachers and the students.
He claimed that the results are a proof of the efficiency of the teaching and non-teaching education staff members and indeed the community at large.
At the same time, he acknowledged that the community plays an integral part in moulding a learner. In his remarks, he recollected some instances where he had to seek help from community leaders to manage mischievous students.
He claimed that the community leaders were very helpful without education officials.
Bothasitse asserted that a collaboration between the learner, teacher, parent and community is a key ingredient in achieving best academic performance.
The School Head for Kgari Sechele Senior Secondary School Mosa Kebobone also expressed her delight on the exceptional results. She thanked the regional operations office staff, teachers and for their support and commitment towards achieving these results.
Further, the head teacher also encouraged students to maintain good behaviour in their lives. She reasoned that she has observed that a well behaved student always excels in everything they do.
Kgosi Kgari Sechele III of Bakwena praised Kgari Sechele Secondary School for the good results for the 2023 session. At the time, he urged the Kweneng regional office leadership and Kgari Sechele Senior Secondary School staff members to aim for position one in the 2024 BGCSE examinations.
