Lesego Chombo Foundation have just donated food hampers to the grieving families in the district

Botswana: Lesego Chombo Foundation have just donated food hampers to the grieving families in the district. Families in the district have been grieving the loss of their loved ones who died in the Mmamatlakala bus crash more than a month ago.

The donation of food hampers comes at the right time as the bodies of the deceased have been repatriated to Botswana. The final farewell and mass funeral will be hosted for all the deceased victims on May 4.

The donation of the food items was a way for the organization to extend their support to the grieving families. The administration has been working hard to give the grieving families the social, emotional and psychological support they need.

In his welcome remarks, Kgosi Mhaladi appreciated the foundation for their generous support. He noted that that Lesego Chombo Foundation has joined other Batswana at large in supporting the grieving families.

Their generous actions are proof of how loving the people of Botswana are.

The Council Chairman appreciated the Chombo foundation for the gesture. He also appreciated all the people who have been supporting the community during this hard time

He further thanked Batswana for the cooperation that they demonstrated on roads when the hearses were being transported from Gaborone to Molepolole.

Lesego Chombo indicated that as a Foundation they were touched by the tragedy. Accordingly, they were inspired to show sympathy and a token of love through the food hampers.

In addition to her words, Kebabonye from Kebabonye Business Law indicated that the loss was not easy for them. Accordingly, the foundation hence they made an effort to help with what they can manage.

The  District Commissioner Tebogo Bagopi assured the foundation that the food hampers will reach the families in need. The donation will be made  through the assistance of the Social & Community Development office.

She urged Lesego Chombo foundation to continue displaying the spirit of togetherness across  the entire country when the need arise. The bus accident happened when a group was travelling from Botswana to South Africa for Easter Pilgrimage.
