Zambia: The rehabilitation of the 87.3 kilometres section of the Lusaka-Mongu Road from Tateyoyo Gate-Katunda Junction will shortly start. The officials have shared that the people of the Western Province have been looking forward to the road construction. The officials have shared that it is important for the road to be constructed as it would ease travel.

The officials have shared that the members of the community shared that the roads are in desperate need for rehabilitation. The previous position of the roads has made the people worried for their safety while traveling.

The officials have shared that the members of the community have appreciated the members of the district administration. According to the Kaoma District Commissioner, Sheba Muyambango construction works should be commissioned within this week.

The commissioning is expected to be hosted on August 7th 2024. Commissioner Muyambango has shown gratitude to the government on behalf of Kaoma and Western Province for a speedy action.

She said that the administration was helping to ensure that the bad road is restored to better standards. The people have been asking the administration to rehabilitate the new road for more than the last five years.

The new administration has answered the call on behalf of the people in less than 3 years since taking office. Muyambango also highlighted that the groundbreaking ceremony for the road rehabilitation are on course.

The movement of people from one point to another had been a cause of concern. The journey that should take 30 minutes concluded in almost 4 times.

The situation was extremely drastic as the motorists are now opting to use the longer route to get to their destination to prevent road accidents. The district Commissioner said that the members of the community have expressed their delight to the government for their support in rehabilitating the roads.

The people are hoping that the rehabilitation of the Lusaka-Mongu Road may also help in generating more jobs for the local people of the nation. The officials shared that they are looking forward to making things easy for the people.
