South Africa: A 37 year old male was abducted, assaulted and left for dead in a bush in Southridge – KZN. The victim was found by the members of the public in the later hours of the morning on Sunday.
The incident was reported to the law enforcement authorities by members of public after they saw the victim lying in the bushes. As per the members of the public, the hands and legs of the suspect had been bound using cable ties and rope.
The people also claimed that his mouth had been taped shut by the assailants in their effort to control the voice of the victim form reaching out and drawing a crowd. The
The Reaction Unit South Africa received the call of assistance at approximately 10:22 hours on Sunday. A team of Reaction officers were dispatched to Crasula Drive where they met and interacted with the victim.
They found the victim bound in restrains and freed him before interviewing him for the details of the incident. In the interview, the victim informed the officers that he was abducted from Garland Street in Temple Valley – KZN.
At the time, he and his brother were walking in the Garland Street in the afternoon hours of the day. The victim’s brother has not been located and is being feared dead by the victim and the authorities.
The two brothers were confronted by some occupants of a white double cab bakkie. The model and registration of the vehicle is currently unknown. He informed the officers that he has no recollection of events that occurred thereafter.
He claimed that it may have been because of the head injury he sustained while being assaulted by the unknown suspects. The victim then regained consciousness in a bush in Southridge – KZN on Sunday morning. He then asked the residents of the community for help after which they contacted RUSA.
The victim sustained multiple injuries to his head but declined medical attention. The people of the country believe that the incident is one of many unfortunate circumstances that they are faced with.
The province has been constantly struggling with increased incidents of crime and the residents believe that they are not safe.
