Mauritius: National awards were presented to National Day Awardees by the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Prithvirajsing Roopun, during two insignia ceremonies held at the State House, Le RĂ©duit.
The Prime Minister, Pravind Kumar Jugnauth; the Vice-Prime Minister, Minister of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Leela Devi Dookun-Luchoomun; Ministers; the first Lady, Sayukta Roopun; the spouse of the Prime Minister, Mrs Kobita Jugnauth; and other personalities also graced the Insignia award ceremony.
The National Award of the GRAND COMMANDER OF THE ORDER OF THE STAR AND KEY OF THE INDIAN OCEAN (GCSK) was conferred to Late Joseph Charles Jacques Desiré BAISSAC (also known as Vaco BAISSAC), who Miss Isabelle BAISSAC represented for valuable contribution in the artistic field.
