South Africa: Member of the Executive Council for Education, Mbali Frazer celebrated the sterling performance of Jozini Circuit in NSC exam results. The MEC visited the students to applaud their dedication and commitment to securing good marks.
The event was hosted on February 26, 2024, in Cezwana Multi-Purpose Hall, in Jozini Umkhanyakude District. The 2023 results for the NSC were published recently and all 19 circuits for Umkhanyakude District received good results.
The KwaZulu Natal Department of Education was happy to report that all the circuits achieved 80% and above in the 2023 NSC exam results. Jozini Circuit is one of the 19 circuits for Umkhanyakude District and achieved 84.7% result.
The students of the Jozini Circuit stood out with their hard work and dedication. 1423 candidates in Jozini successfully wrote their 2023 NSC exams. Out of 1423, 1205 students passed.
As per the Education Department, the circuit also has the highest enrolment of NSC candidates in the entire district.
The department asserted that the performance of Jozini Circuit is crucial for the overall results of Umkhanyakude District. The district management promised to focus on Jozini Circuit during the 2024 academic year.
In light of their performance in the previous year, the students can help Umkhanyakude rise to the number 1 position in the country.
As per the 2023 NSC exams statistics, Umkhanyakude secured the 4th position in the country. Meanwhile, the district was unbeaten in the province of KwaZulu-Natal having secured a 90% pass rate.
MEC Frazer thanked the educators of the district for their hard work and dedication. She acknowledged that this is despite the difficult financial situation in the KZN Education department.
“I hold all educators in high regard because I know your job is not easy, and that is why I always say our educators are the backbone of our education system,” said MEC Frazer.
She further thanked all the stakeholders who supported the Umkhanyakude District. Finally, at the close of the celebration, MEC Frazer later handed over certificates of excellence to all principals of Jozini Circuit schools.
