Dominica: The parliamentary representative of the Roseau Central Melissa Skerrit shared some glimpses from the ongoing carnival of the country. The carnival started on Monday, February 12. The event was attended in large numbers by the people of the country.
The locals and residents of the country got the opportunity to relax and unwind for two days. Meanwhile, the fun of the weekend was also extended for the duration of the carnival event.
Minister Melissa Poppone Skerrit, who is the Minister of Housing and Urban Development also participated in the carnival celebration. The Carnival is an extremely important part of the country’s culture and history.
The event serves as the perfect opportunity to pay homage to the longstanding and deep culture and traditions of Dominica. Crazymess band was one of the highlights of the first day of Carnival on Monday.
The event organizers sought the assistance of many popular and talented artists. Some of the most notable names on the list of artists were: Benji, Deejay, C-Four, Asa Bantan, Ridge, Kenny G, DJ Shil and Nice.
The locals of Dominica flooded the venue of the Carnival event to support the local talents and celebrate with their fellow nationals. The second and final day of the carnival was marked by many activities including Traditional Parade, Hysteria Mas, Winners Parade, Amnesia, Thunderbird Pulse Experience, Fantacy Tribe, and Afrikulture Stilt Walkers.
Minister Skerrit was extremely excited to see the Dominica Carnival being hosted successfully. She shared some videos from the venue on her social media account. She shared that she was happy to see so many of the locals enjoying the festivities.
Meanwhile, the locals of Dominica were delighted to participate in the remarkable event. They also mentioned that Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and his wife, Minister Melissa Skerrit should enjoy during the event.
