Botswana: Lesego Chombo who was crowned Miss World Africa at the recently concluded 71st Miss World festival returned to Botswana on Sunday. The young pageanter’s homecoming event was hosted by the Ministry of Youth, Gender, Sports and Culture.
The homecoming of Chombo featured a motorcade which started from the Sir Seretse Khama International Airport in Gaborone to the central business district. The motorcade served as an opportunity for the fans of Lesego to see her and cheer her on.
Miss World Africa drew in a large crowd of admirers who swarmed the route of the motorcade to catch a glimpse of their idol. The motorcade started at 16:30 Hours from the airport and moved to the Shell BBS.
Moving on, the motorcade took the route from Maruapula Traffic lights to Middle Star. Afterwards, the spectators saw the motorcade the Bus rank fly over from where it turned towards G west Police
After the Police station, the motorcade went on to cover G west Mma Masire and Nokia Traffic lights. From the lights, the homecoming motorcade went to the G West KFC , Phase 2 Traffic lights and finally ended at the Central Business District.
Lesego has made Botswana proud with her performance at the Miss Universe Pageant in Mumbai, India. Throughout the 71st Miss World Festival, the Botswanan beauty gave her absolute best and competed with grace.
She was one of the top contenders among the African Continent. Miss Botswana made it to the finals of the Miss World Festival was one of the top four models on the night of the finale. She garnered love and appreciation from her fans and admirers for her performance at the international pageant.
The people of Botswana were extremely excited to welcome the pageanter back to her home after her remarkable performance. They acknowledged that due to the efforts of Lesego Chombo, Botswana has received a lot of positive limelight.
She highlighted and represented her country with tremendous grace and humility. She was hailed for her efforts and performance at the international pageant by the president of Botswana, Mokgweetsi E. K. Masisi
